Advisory Services
Advisory Services provided by Atlantic Capital Investments, LLC (ACI) includes fund selection, fund monitoring, and asset allocation services but primarily refer to services provided to small business owners and their employer-sponsored retirement plans.
After the Enron debacle and the subsequent corporate and broker scandals, employers are faced with the challenge of fulfilling their fiduciary responsibilities while offering employees a diverse group of quality investments and unbiased investment advice. As a co-fiduciary on your employer-sponsored retirement plan, ACI becomes your "partner," rather than a vendor selling products, by providing investment advisory services:
- Investment Policy Statement (IPS) Preparation: The IPS provides the general investment goals and objectives of a client and describes the strategies that the adviser should employ to meet these objectives. Specific information on matters such as investment selection, investment monitoring, asset allocation, risk tolerance, and investment strategies would also be included in an IPS. ACI can meet with the client to discuss this information and prepare a written IPS.
- Investment Committee Meetings: Combined with the IPS, an Investment Committee will help ensure your Plan remains competitive and compliant. The committee should meet two to four times per year to review fund performance, plan administrative issues, legislative updates, and to decide if any investment (s) should be added or replaced. ACI records Minutes of every meeting and sends or makes them available to the Plan administrator, trustee(s), or Board of Directors.
- Employee Communications: ACI may provide enrollment services as well as investment and educational support for 401(k) Plan participants under the guidelines established in ERISA Section 404(c).
- Advice to Participants: ACI is a “fee only” investment advisory firm. Due to its “revenue neutral” status, ACI may also provide unbiased and individualized advice to clients’ 401(k) plan participants. This valuable benefit includes a recommended allocation of investments offered within the 401(k) plan based on the participant’s individual financial situation, including age, risk tolerance, risk capacity, and existing assets.
